This can possibly be the most disrespectful photo on Tumblr. I am not saying that you have to agree with what the bible says, but to utilize that book ‘as a plate’ knowing what it means to people, is just plain disrespectful.

It’s sad that people are so full of anger when it comes to religion, that they would rather post photos like this than deal with their hostilities in a more appropriate way.

They don’t seem to have any objection over burning other kinds of books… or even people…

I don’t understand why some gay people insist on “outing” other gays, most especially those who are popular, e.g. in showbiz, models, etc. Did these personalities do us harm? Did they insult our existence? Did they make us feel insecure? What will we gain by “outing” the person? Will we be as popular as he is?

It’s still the crab mentality that pervades this culture. We see someone is more successful, more handsome, or more well off than we are and we simply have to bring that person down to our level. What for? Hoping that when they’re down on our level we no longer need to feel insecure? Will our chances of dating or having sex with him increase once he’s out?

It also speaks of the negative outlook of people in this country toward homosexuals. Even worse is that it is telling of how homosexuals see other homosexuals. I have talked to some who say as if it’s a fact that this or that star is gay and has affairs with another gay star, and some of them laugh at these so-called “closet queens.” Why? Is it such a shameful thing to be gay? Coming from a gay person, that’s just ironic. Even more ironic is that some of these people are in the closet themselves. For shame. How would we feel if our sexuality is televised nationwide, particularly targeted to our parents, relatives and close friends? Won’t that be a fun day?

The point is… so what? If they’re homosexuals, does that mean they’re not supposed to be on TV? Does that mean they can no longer work and be successful? Does that mean they’re worse than others at acting or modeling? Does that mean they shouldn’t be successful in their careers and happy with their love life as well?

Let’s shift the perspective and apply that to ourselves: so what if we’re homosexuals? Does that mean we’re not supposed to be on TV? Does that mean we can no longer work and be successful? Does that mean that others are better than us? Does that mean we shouldn’t be happy in our careers and love life?

I maintain: the LGBT community needs to work on itself before it can demand acceptance. If we can’t accept ourselves and each other, how can we even dare to demand acceptance and equality from others? If we can’t be happy for ourselves, how can we ask others to be happy for us?

It started as a wonderful night, full of ecstatic joy and laughter. We were enjoying the blood of our unknowing victims as we dance with them accompanied by the sound of strings played quite beautifully by no less than our own talented Kindred. We were assured safety by our gifts and near-immortality, as we sink our teeth into the flesh of mortals.

I had just finished a meal when I first heard them coming. My initial reaction was disbelief; it can’t be possible for humans to find this chantry so easily. Second was wonder, as I slowly delve into the minds and then being blocked out so suddenly. Finally, I felt fear.

There are only two main groups of humans who can consciously control their gifts, much less master them. One group is an aloof kind that fights its own battles. The second group lives for only one purpose: eliminate all kinds of supernatural beings.

Before I can prepare for the approaching threat, the explosion has already occurred. Blood was spilled all over, from kines and Kindred alike. Many lost their self-control at the amount of blood and went berserk; a dangerous state, but it can work against the intruders. Having better control over my Beast, I hurried into safety through one of the rooms under the stairs. I quickly opened a closet, and inside, opened a hidden doorway that goes through the ground. I went down, and with a flick of a finger, closed the closet and hidden doors.

The underground passage was dank and musty, but it is far safer than inside the chantry. I looked up at the closed door and recited a spell to seal it from all intruders to ensure I wouldn’t be followed. As for the others? Well, surely they can gather enough power to drive off the Hunters. But I am not willing to take the risk of failure.

The exit was not very far from the chantry, but hidden by trees, shrubs and stones. I released my mind to see beyond the exit, in case there are humans within range. Finding none, I went out, and found the glowing conflagration in the direction of the house. I would have thought that we lost to the mortals, until I saw an Elder weaving the flames over and about, a truly deadly weapon. Despite having the element of surprise, the humans did not expect this development, and most were turned into ashes. There might be those that escaped, but I would guess the other vampires caught up to them in the forest.

This is my statement, spoken in truth in this night, before the Council of Elders. I fled and betrayed my House, and I shall willingly suffer the punishment for my cowardice.
